Doctor of medical sciences, dermatologist Janine Downey named the habits that lead to early aging of the skin.
According to 50-year-old Downey, her biggest regret is not moisturizing her skin enough in her 30s. The expert explained that wrinkles, especially facial wrinkles, appear earlier on dry skin. Thus, hydration can help prevent premature signs of aging.
In addition, the dermatologist recommended not to ignore sunscreen even in winter. Downey stressed that UV protection is important not only for beauty, but also for skin health. However, the sun's rays are not the only problem, radiation from gadgets can also cause damage. As the dermatologist explained, such light provokes enlarged pores, the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation of the skin, known as melasma.
In addition, Downey urged to pay due attention to the care of the skin of the neck. The doctor also recommended applying retinol, sunscreen and moisturizers. At the same time, she advised to get rid of the habit of rubbing your eyes with your hands. "You can damage the blood vessels, which will cause dark circles," she explained.
