The electric family crossover BYD Sealion 7 has become one of six new models that the Chinese giant will present in Europe by 2025. It is noted that this is the first European model of the brand that uses a new architecture called e-Platform 3.0 Evo.
The BYD Sealion 7 in the basic Comfort version has one engine with a capacity of 308 hp, which is installed on the rear axle, as well as a battery with a capacity of 82,5 kWh, which provides a range of up to 500 km without recharging. This is the lightest version of the crossover – it weighs 2225 kg and can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6,7 seconds.
The average configuration also gets a 215 hp electric motor. on the front axle, thus the car has all-wheel drive and a total power of 523 hp. An additional engine increases the weight of the car to 2340 kg. Acceleration dynamics from standstill to "hundreds" is 4,5 seconds.
The top-of-the-line BYD, called Excellence, uses the same 523 hp powerplant, but has a larger 91,3 kWh battery, providing a range of more than 510 km. With a larger battery and additional options, the Sealion 7 weighs 2435 kg. However, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in the same 4,5 seconds. Electric vehicles support charging at a speed of up to 150 kW from the direct current network.
In the cabin, Sealion 7 received a 15,6-inch infotainment touchscreen. The electric crossover is also equipped with a 10,25-inch instrument display, as well as four USB ports. The declared volume of the trunk is 520 liters with the rear seats raised and 1789 liters with them folded.
