Road accidents with fatal consequences, unfortunately, are not uncommon. In Ukraine, several thousand people die every year as a result of car accidents, many times more suffer injuries of various degrees of severity. The causes of such tragedies are often the inattention of drivers and pedestrians, speeding or drunken driving. At the same time, there is a certain correlation of fatal accidents with the use of certain brands and models of cars.

The US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) conducted its own study, in which it found out which cars, according to statistics, show the highest rates of road deaths. The anti-rating included seven models, well above the average of 2,6 fatalities per billion miles driven.

When examining the list in detail, it becomes clear that factors such as small dimensions, huge engine power and/or lack of modern safety systems cause a car to become a "coffin on wheels" most often.
