Making thin lavash at home is much easier than it seems at first glance. They are soft, tender and can be the basis for many dishes - from shawarma to rolls with fillings.
Ingredients for thin lavash:
- 300 g flour
- 150 ml of warm water
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Mix flour and salt in a deep bowl. Gradually add warm water and vegetable oil, kneading the dough. It should be soft and elastic. Cover the dough with a towel and leave for 20 minutes.
Divide the dough into small balls. On a floured surface, roll out each ball to a thin layer, about 2-3 mm thick.
Heat a dry frying pan over medium heat. Fry each pita for 1-2 minutes on each side, until small bubbles appear on the surface and the pita acquires a golden hue.
Put the ready lavash in a pile and cover with a towel so that they remain soft.
