From $21: The Zeekr X electric crossover has received a new version and has become significantly cheaper

The Zeekr X 2025 model year electric crossover with rear-wheel drive and a 272 hp engine has been available in China since November. and a reduced lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a capacity of 49 kWh. The starting price of the car has dropped to $21, although before that Zeekr X prices started at $28.

According to experts, the sale may be related to weak demand for the model in the domestic market. The Zeekr X has been on sale in China since May 2023, but only 15 units have been sold in 29 months.

The usual version with the same power plant (rear-wheel drive, 272 forces, 343 Nm) and a nickel-manganese-cobalt battery for 66 kWh now costs 23 thousand dollars.

It is interesting that the transition to a cheaper lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a smaller capacity did not lead to a decrease in curb weight: the difference in passport characteristics is only 10 kilograms (1860 versus 1850 kilograms). If the discounts do not lead to an increase in demand for Zeekr X in China, the model can be removed from the local range and left purely as an export option.
