The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has simplified the registration of volunteer cars for servicemen, Interfax reports with reference to the Ministry of Social Policy.

"The government has introduced a mechanism for temporary state registration of vehicles that servicemen receive as humanitarian aid and use to protect the state. From now on, servicemen can register such a vehicle in their name and use it legally until the end of martial law and three months after its cancellation or termination," the ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that the implementation of this decision will ensure the transparency of ownership of vehicles, will regulate the procedure for traveling abroad and transferring such cars to other servicemen.

So, from now on, in order to put such a car on temporary state registration, a serviceman must submit to the service center within 10 days of signing the act of acceptance and transfer (as required by law in all cases of registration of imported cars): an application; an identity document; a document on military service; an act of acceptance and transfer of a vehicle of the prescribed form; printed electronic declaration.

"Military personnel who received vehicles as humanitarian aid from the beginning of December 2023 and until the entry into force of the decree can register them at service centers within the next three months (from the moment of adoption of this decree) on the basis of the above-mentioned documents (the act of acceptance and transfer can be arbitrary form). The procedure for registration of vehicles given to servicemen as humanitarian aid until December 2023 will be established additionally," added the Ministry of Social Policy.

In addition, the department noted that in order to simplify the further re-registration of a vehicle recognized as humanitarian aid to other servicemen, in the act of acceptance and transfer, it is possible to specify up to five servicemen who will have the right to drive this vehicle and re-register it to himself.

"After completing the registration process, the serviceman informs the military unit, body, unit in which he is serving that he has received and registered a vehicle recognized as humanitarian aid," the message reads.

The temporary registration of the vehicle is terminated in case of: destruction of this vehicle; death of a serviceman; suspension of military service; recognition of a serviceman as missing; military serviceman's stay in captivity; the serviceman's stay in treatment for more than one month (in particular, in connection with a wound, contusion, trauma or mutilation); being a wanted military serviceman in connection with voluntary abandonment of a military unit or desertion; dismissal of a serviceman from military service; a serviceman's refusal of transport in favor of another serviceman.

"In the event of these circumstances, the temporary state registration can be renewed at the request of one of the servicemen specified in the act of acceptance and transfer. If data on military personnel who have a priority right to registration are not available, the service center informs the unit where the serviceman served about the need for departmental registration of the vehicle," the ministry said.
