The representative of the Pentagon emphasized that a lot depends only on how the Russian Federation decides to use this North Korean contingent, and "how well they are integrated, what combat experience they have."

The deployment of up to 12 North Korean troops in the Kursk region to support the Russian army may affect the situation in the region. This was announced on Monday, November 4, by the spokesman of the US Department of Defense, Major General Patrick Ryder.

The representative of the US Ministry of Defense noted that the response of the Russian military-political leadership to the beginning of the Kursk operation of the Ukrainian army in the first days of the offensive was "very confusing" from the point of view of attempts to knock the Armed Forces out of the region.

"They could not push the Ukrainians far. They got some additional territory back, but nothing that we would classify as significant,” Ryder said.

At the same time, he noted that the North Korean forces relocated to the Kursk region "can be of considerable importance from the point of view of combat capability."

At the same time, the Pentagon spokesman pointed out that much will depend "on how these forces are used, how they are integrated into Russian command and control."

In addition, he stated that the battle-hardened soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will most likely continue the operation in the Kursk region, in particular, to maintain the territory that was taken under control.
