In Spain, King Philip VI, his wife Queen Letizia and senior government officials were pelted with mud and stones by angry mobs when the monarch and officials arrived in disaster-hit Valencia. They were accused of indifference to the "flood-affected region".
This was reported by the publication The Times and The Sunday Times on Sunday, November 3.

Cries like "murderer" and "get away" rang out from the crowd. Local residents accuse King Philip VI and his wife Letizia of insufficient help after the floods, which killed 272 people.
The head of the government was also attacked. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez was evacuated from the scene while an official government delegation was on the disaster-stricken streets of Paiporta. It is one of the most affected areas of the country, where more than 60 people died and thousands of houses were destroyed.
