The government of Ukraine, in the draft state budget for 2025 approved on Friday for the second reading, proposes to allocate UAH 488,4 million to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, including UAH 200 million for strategic communications projects and promotion of Ukraine's positive image abroad, Stina writes.
As reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, UAH 150 million has been earmarked separately for supporting Ukrainians abroad and facilitating their return to Ukraine through the activities of the Ukrainian Unity Agency under the Ministry of Economy.
Among other changes, there is an additional allocation of UAH 1 billion to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defense of the Ministry of Defense for the development of armaments and military equipment, with a simultaneous reduction in the financing of the Prosecutor General's Office by UAH 1,2 billion.
In addition, UAH 500 million is provided for the support of the defense-industrial complex to reduce the cost of loans to enterprises.
As noted by the Ministry of Finance, for the development of the agricultural sector, an additional UAH 1 billion is provided for the support of animal husbandry and processing of agricultural products.
The updated draft of the state budget-2025 also provides for 1 billion UAH for the implementation of investment projects through the State Fund for Regional Development, and another 1 billion UAH is allocated for restoration work in Kharkiv, which should make it possible to restore housing and communal facilities that were damaged by hostilities .
According to the release, UAH 3 billion is provided for compensation for destroyed housing, and UAH 1 billion for damaged property.
It is noted that an additional UAH 646 million has been allocated to the Ministry of Health, including UAH 500 million for the reimbursement of drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
In addition, the expenditures of the Ministry of Social Policy increased by more than UAH 1,4 billion, in particular, UAH 1 billion for assistance to internally displaced persons, UAH 102,2 million for payment of cloud resources for digital technologies, and UAH 328,6 million for day care services for children with disabilities.
It is noted that the revenues, which were previously directed to a special fund in the amount of UAH 43,2 billion to finance the State Road Fund, have now been completely transferred to the general fund of the budget, and an additional UAH 12 billion is directed to increasing teachers' payments.
As reported by the Ministry of Finance, the budget also takes into account the decision of the Strategic Investment Council to allocate UAH 36,4 billion to the implementation of priority areas of public investment, in particular: UAH 11,8 billion to education, UAH 8 billion to water supply, UAH 6 billion to social protection, UAH 5,6 billion for health care, UAH 4,4 billion for transport, UAH 502 million for public administration and UAH 70 million for for projects in the field of culture, in particular, for the construction of shelters.
In general, expenditures of the general fund of the state budget in the revised project amount to UAH 3 trillion 709,8 billion. As Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal previously announced, they have been increased by UAH 50 billion.
"The government's approval of the draft budget in the second reading is a clear signal that Ukraine remains on the path of financial stability even in the difficult conditions of war. We focused on priorities: ensuring defense, social support of the population and creating opportunities for economic recovery. The budget is based on realistic estimates and takes into account the challenges of wartime, as well as the proposals of the parliament," said Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko.
