The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Serhii Lavrov called the Ukrainian peace formula "stupid", and the "victory plan" of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi - "schizophrenic". Without choosing expressions, the chief Russian diplomat made such a statement during the second Minsk international conference on Eurasian security.
In particular, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that since 2014, Ukraine has allegedly "consecutively passed laws" banning the Russian language in education, mass media, and the cultural sphere, as well as the "canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church." In this regard, the Kremlin official mentioned Art. 1 of the UN charter on human rights, which applies to people regardless of race, sex, language and religion. Without saying a word about the murders of Ukrainians by Russian soldiers, he called the Ukrainian government "Russophobic," the Ukrainian peace formula "stupid," and Zelensky's victory plan "schizophrenic."
"... The West closes its eyes, continuing to promote the impasse, I would even say the stupid peace formula of Zelenskyi, who calls for the surrender of Russia. And a few weeks ago, this citizen published an equally schizophrenic plan for victory," Lavrov said.
He stated that the Russian Federation has no intention of ending military aggression, and made it clear that the Kremlin will oppose Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance and/or the European Union in every possible way.
"It is clear that no formula, no plan, no fantasy about the membership of Kyiv-controlled Ukraine in NATO or the European Union will bring peace in Europe. Stability in this part of the Eurasian continent will be achieved only if long-term reliable security guarantees are provided. For example, in the form in which they were laid out in our initiatives of December 2021 and were rejected by the West..." - stated the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also accused the USA of undermining the "Northern Stream" and Kyiv of "Nazism, physical extermination of the opposition." Lavrov called the Ukrainians who defend their independence "neo-Nazis", and the OSCE - a "marginal structure". Also, the representative of the diplomatic corps of Moscow emphasized that it is the alleged "actions" of NATO that force the Russian Federation to take "compensatory measures", but did not say a single word about the fact that thousands of civilians died due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, cities and villages, infrastructure, etc. were destroyed.
According to open sources, the II Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security will take place from October 31 to November 1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus announces the participation of politicians and analysts from approximately 30 countries.
We will remind, earlier the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the ruler of Russia Vladimir Putin wants a ceasefire in the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which was confirmed by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan Bey (Turkey) and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov.
