US President-elect Donald Trump has said he will not invite former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to his new administration.

"I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the Trump Administration as it is being formed," Trump tweeted on Saturday, adding: "I have loved and appreciated working with them in the past and would like to thank them for their service to our country".
Trump is meeting with potential candidates for positions in his administration ahead of the Jan. 20 inauguration. In particular, on Friday, according to the media resource, Trump met with the well-known investor Scott Bessent, who is a potential candidate for the post of US Treasury Secretary.
Haley, a former South Carolina governor who served as Trump's U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, endorsed Trump for president despite strongly criticizing him during the party primaries.
Pompeo, who also served as CIA director under Trump, has been mentioned in some media reports as a possible defense secretary and has also been considered as a potential Republican presidential candidate.
Before the presidential election, the former director of the CIA, Mike Pompeo, spoke out against the restrictions imposed by the US and other allies on Ukraine's use of long-range Western weapons.
In the author's column of the WSJ newspaper, Pompeo published "Trump's Peace Plan for Ukraine" - regarding peace in Ukraine and the terms of the agreement with Russia. In particular, this plan provides for: Ukraine building up significant defense forces so that Russia never attacks again; non-recognition of the Russian occupation and declared annexation of any Ukrainian territories; demilitarization of Crimea; restoration of Ukraine at the expense of reparations from the frozen reserves of the Central Bank of Russia, and not at the expense of US taxpayers; Ukraine's accession to NATO as soon as possible, so that all European allies take on the burden of its protection; quick acceptance of Ukraine to the European Union, which should help it modernize and develop the economy.
Pompeo also offers to lift sanctions from Russia if Putin fulfills these conditions, when Ukraine will be in both NATO and the EU. And for NATO to create a fund worth 100 billion dollars "for armaments of Ukraine", in which the share of the United States should be limited to 20%. Set a limit of 20% funding from the US on all joint budgets of the alliance.
In addition, this plan foresees the steps of the US foreign policy regarding the Middle East.
Elections in the USA were held on November 5.
