Goran Vesich announced his resignation due to the collapse of the roof at the railway station in the city of Novi Sad, as a result of which people died.
Serbia's Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesic, has resigned following an incident in which the roof of the railway station in the city of Novi Sad collapsed, killing 14 people. This was reported by Tanjug on Tuesday, November 5.
Vesic said he resigned as a "responsible person who wants to show by personal example that in Serbia there is a sense of moral responsibility for the terrible tragedy that happened in the city of Novi Sad."
On November 3, hundreds of opposition activists gathered in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, to protest the collapse of the train station in Novi Sad, which they blamed on negligence and corruption on the part of the authorities.
