One person was killed and 16 others were injured in a shooting at Tuskegee University in Alabama overnight Sunday into Monday.

It is noted that the deceased - an 18-year-old boy - was not a student of this educational institution.
Twelve people received gunshot wounds, and four other injuries not related to the shooting, according to the statement of law enforcement agencies of the state of Alabama.
The shooting happened at a time when Tuskegee University, traditionally a school of African Americans, was celebrating its holiday.
As a result of the incident, no one was arrested, and the police appealed to the public with a request for anyone with information to help in this case.
