A wheeled armored personnel carrier of this class has enhanced anti-mine protection and increased cross-country ability. His task is to safely transport servicemen to the front line, as well as to take them back. Depending on the layout, this APC has the first or second category of protection of the STANAG 4569 standard.

The base model has a special crew capsule with a V-shaped bottom. This allows the blast wave to be diverted to the sides of the car to protect the passengers. The car can withstand an explosion not only of a mine, but also of homemade explosives equivalent to 7 kg of TNT (under the chassis). The MaxxPro crew consists of three people: a driver, a commander and a gunner.

For defense, an open tower is placed on the roof - a 7,62 mm or 12,7 mm machine gun can be installed there. Another feature of such an armored vehicle is the connection of the body — the elements are not connected by welds, but by bolts. Thus, it is easier to replace a part in the field. Such an armored vehicle weighs from 12,7 to 13,4 tons.
