If the pumpkin has produced more than ever before, don't rush to throw the excess in the compost pile - instead, use it to make pumpkin apple juice.
Details
In addition to its excellent taste, such a drink is also extremely useful. To prepare it, you will need:
- 1 kg of pumpkin;
- 2 kg of apples;
- 2 oranges;
- 1 lemon;
- 300 g of sugar;
- 250 ml of water.
Wash the pumpkin well, then cut it in half and remove the seeds. The pulp, cut into cubes, should be added to boiling water.
Boil the pumpkin for 20 minutes, adding juice squeezed from both types of citrus fruits - lemon and orange.
While the pumpkin is cooking, use a spare moment to pass the apples through the juicer.
Let's return to the pumpkin - it must be crushed using a blender and sent to boil again together with apple juice and sugar - for 5 minutes.
Fill the jars with the resulting juice and screw them with iron lids.
When the glass containers, covered with a towel, cool down, you can take them to the cellar for storage.
