The occupiers are modernizing BMP-3M. This Kurganmashzavod machine, also known as "Manul", is intended to be the Russian answer to the American Bradley and the German Marder.
The novelty was presented to the general public at the "Army-2020" industry exhibition. The machine received an unmanned combat module TKB-947 with a 30-mm automatic cannon, a PKTM machine gun and Kornet-E anti-tank missiles.
One of the significant changes was the forward installation of the engine, which made it possible to increase the capacity of the landing compartment to 8 shock-type seats for protection against blast waves.
"Manul" boasts reinforced side armor to increase resistance to NATO anti-tank weapons and a new 660-horsepower UTD-32T engine, which allows it to reach speeds of up to 70 km/h and cover up to 600 km on one tank.
It is important that with a weight of 21 tons, the car retains the ability to overcome water obstacles at a speed of up to 9,5 km/h.
