Kia has carried out a long-awaited update of its best-selling Sportage crossover. The car, which entered the fifth generation in 2021, went through the planned restyling procedure in November 2024 and is preparing for the official start of sales. The first market that will receive the new Sportage will be its native South Korea, and later the car will go on sale in other countries.
What else is worth knowing about the novelty
As expected earlier, the modernization brought a number of changes to the exterior of the Sportage. The car received a redesigned front part of the body with a new lighting solution, which Kia calls Starmap (star map). Complementing it are black grilles with horizontal patterns paired with a wide air intake and vertical elements on the bumper.
As for the interior, Kia has kept its former design identity while adding a hint of high-tech.
Eight body color options, including the new Wolf Gray and Heritage Blue, should allow buyers to tailor the exterior of their Sportage to their own preferences, while the choice of interior color now includes three options at once: including the new Lounge Brown.
The new Sportage will be sold in Korea with a fresh 1,6-liter gasoline turbo engine, which works in tandem with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The hybrid version of the car will receive an intelligent regenerative braking system, and the list of driving modes will be supplemented with the "baby" option and will ensure the smoothest and most comfortable movement.
Prices for the new Sportage in Korea have already been announced. They are going to ask from 28 million 360 thousand local won (900 thousand hryvnias) for the basic configuration of the car. The most equipped version of the car (X-Line hybrid) will be estimated at 41700000 (1,2 million hryvnias).
