The publication notes that the heavy rains and hail that hit the region were the result of a low pressure system moving from the Arabian Sea to Oman. This atmospheric front brought moist air that caused unusual thunderstorms and showers in Saudi Arabia and the neighboring United Arab Emirates. The Saudi Meteorological Department has issued a warning of prolonged weather changes. In the coming days, strong winds, reduced visibility and possible disruptions in transportation are expected in the region.

Authorities urged residents to take precautions due to the unstable weather, which remains an exceptional event for the desert.
