Last month, several famous beaches in Australia near Sydney were covered by mysterious black balls.
After numerous reports from local residents, the authorities closed seven beaches while rescuers cleaned the areas and found out the origin of these spheres.

Initial findings suggested that the balls could be the product of a crude oil spill, suggesting a possible man-made incident in the sea near Australia. However, more detailed research conducted by a team from the University of New South Wales revealed more shocking results: the black balls contained human feces, hair, food residues and even traces of methamphetamine.

"They smell absolutely disgusting, they smell worse than anything you've ever smelled," said black orb researcher John Beaves.
The discovered spheres resemble the so-called fatbergs or fatbergs - masses that form in sewage systems and mainly consist of fatty waste, garbage and various impurities. However, unlike ordinary fat bags, the balls found in Sydney contained not only food and fecal waste, but also traces of narcotic substances.
After the discovery of the balls, authorities in Sydney warned residents and tourists to avoid contact with them, in particular not to touch or swim near these objects. The New South Wales Environment Agency said it was unable to establish the exact origin of the balls given the time they had spent in ocean waters. However, this could probably be due to sewage leaks or a possible incident with a vessel in the open sea.
