Extremely tasty, simple, hearty, for lunch or dinner! Chinese-style meat in sweet and sour sauce is prepared so easily that even a novice hostess can handle it. Its specialty is the sauce. Pamper yourself and your loved ones with an exotic Asian dish!
Ingredients:
- Pork - 400 gr
- Carrot - 1 pc.
- Bulgarian pepper 1 pc.
- Garlic 1 cloves
- Ginger (I have ginger powder) 10 gr
- Hot pepper 0.5 pc.
For the sauce:
- Soy sauce 4 table.
- Brown sugar 2 table.
- Rice vinegar 2 table.
- Potato starch 2 tsp. spoons
- Water 80 ml
For roasting:
Vegetable oil 3 table. spoons
Preparation:
Prepare all the necessary products. You can use ginger powder instead of fresh ginger. You can take corn starch, you need twice as much.
Take the meat, wash it under running water, dry it. Cut it into strips (this is a traditional cut) or into small pieces. Cut off excess fat.
Put the chopped meat in a bowl, pour a tablespoon of soy sauce, mix and let it stand for a while.
Take a carrot, wash it with a brush under running water, peel it and cut it into thin, long strips.
Take the bell pepper, wash it under running water, dry it, clean it from the stem and seeds. Cut the peppers into roughly the same strips as the carrots.
Peel the garlic, cut into slices. Rinse hot pepper under running water, dry and cut into rings. When working with pepper, it is better to wear gloves so as not to burn the skin. If you are using fresh ginger, peel and mince it as you would garlic. If you are against the active taste of these products, then cut them coarsely, and then remove them from the pan.
How to make a sauce? Mix soy sauce, sugar, vinegar and half the volume of starch in a bowl. Add water. I also poured ginger powder. Mix well.
Pour the remaining starch into the meat, mix, this will help it remain juicy.
Heat a pan on the stove, pour a couple of spoons of oil into it. Let it heat up. Put the carrots in a pan and fry them over high heat for 1-1,5 minutes.
Add hot and sweet pepper. Fry for another minute and a half. Then remove the vegetables from the pan.
Pour another tablespoon of oil into the pan. Put garlic and ginger (if fresh). Fry them for 20-30 seconds. The garlic can be removed or left if you like the active taste of garlic.
Put the meat in aromatic oil. Fry over high heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add vegetables to the meat. Reduce the heat to medium. Fry them for a few minutes.
Pour the sauce into the pan, having previously stirred it so that the starch rises from the bottom.
Mix the meat with the sauce well. Keep the meat on the fire for a few more minutes. The sauce should thicken and boil. The meat is ready. When serving, it can be sprinkled with sesame seeds and chopped fresh green parsley or dill.

The meat according to this recipe is spicy, aromatic, with a rich taste. As a side dish, rice, noodles or mashed potatoes are good for it. If you wish, you can not add hot pepper at all.
When adding soy sauce to a dish, it is worth considering that it has a salty taste. Reduce the total amount of salt, otherwise you risk oversalting.
