A new ultra-powerful electric sports crossover will appear in the Mercedes-Benz model range. The official presentation is planned for 2026. Information about the new product has already appeared on the official website of the German brand.
The new electric car is being developed by the sports division of Mercedes-AMG. It will be the first crossover to be completely designed by AMG specialists. The model is considered a successor to the Mercedes-AMG GLE63, but the car will be slightly larger in size.
In the first teaser released, the electric car shows off a dashing design with an elongated and curved hood, a tall window line and steeply sloping rear roof pillars.
The Mercedes electric crossover will be built on a completely new AMG.EA platform, equipped with an 800-volt electrical system that will allow fast charging.
It also became known that the British company Yasa is working on the creation of an innovative electric motor. Its power is 480 hp, torque is 800 N∙m, and its weight is only 24 kg. Since the Mercedes-AMG electric crossover will receive two such engines, its total power will reach 960 hp, and the torque will reach 1600 N∙m.
