The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, has said that he will send a petition to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Donald Trump if he can end the war in Ukraine.

At the wood-cutting championship, he compared Trump to a "bulldozer" who came to victory despite the fact that he was "shot, pressured and wanted to be imprisoned." He called Kamala Harris a heroic woman for whom "America is not ready."

Lukashenko noted that the American politician many times promised to stop wars, in particular in Ukraine:

"If he does this, we will send a petition to the Nobel Prize, he will be awarded for doing a good deed. The hope is that he will fulfill his promises. But America is not Belarus: there they can forget something else."
