Dmytro Peskov does not like the results of the elections in Moldova
According to Dmytro Peskov, the presidential elections in Moldova "were full of election manipulations".
The Russian authorities did not like the presidential elections in Moldova, in which Maya Sandu won. Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov said this at a briefing on Tuesday, November 5.
He believes that there are "hundreds of thousands" of Moldovan citizens living in Russia who were unable to vote.
"A very large part of the country's population did not have the opportunity to vote, unlike those citizens of Moldova who work in European countries. Of course, this could not but affect the election results, which at the same time cannot be considered clean. These elections were neither democratic nor fair. They were full of election manipulations," he said.
Dmytro Peskov made it clear that he does not consider Maya Sanda to be the president of Moldova.
"As for Mrs. Sandu, you know that she is not, as far as we understand, the president of her country, because in the country itself, the majority of the population also did not vote for her. And we are talking about a very, very divided society," the Kremlin spokesman added.
At the same time, he, commenting on the information about the interference of the Russian Federation in the elections in Moldova, said that this "did not happen and could not happen".
"After the presidential elections in Moldova, the Russian Federation is not inclined to look at the prospects of bilateral relations 'through rose-colored glasses,'" Peskov summarized.
