What are the restrictions in the Christmas fast

The basis of the diet mostly consists of:
- legumes and cereals: peas, lentils, buckwheat, rice, chickpeas, oatmeal, etc.;
- vegetables: potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, beets, carrots, asparagus, onions;
- fruits and dried fruits: apples, pears, dried apricots, raisins;
- mushrooms and pickles: sauerkraut, pickled cucumbers, lecho;
- seeds and nuts: almonds, walnuts, cashews, peanuts, etc.
On weekends and some holidays, fish is allowed, which adds variety to the diet.
