Iran could launch a "comprehensive" attack on Israel using missiles, drones and even the regular army. According to The Wall Street Journal, this operation was confirmed by knowledgeable sources in the Iranian government.

An Iranian official, explaining the preparations for the attack, remarked: "Our military has lost people, and they need to respond to that." Iran is also considering using Iraqi territory for part of the operation.

The planned strike should be more aggressive compared to past operations. According to an Iranian official, the attack will take place after the US elections, but before the inauguration of the new president in January. This decision is aimed at avoiding influencing the American election process.

Israel's response: airstrikes on Iranian facilities

On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes against Iranian military facilities in three provinces: Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam. This was a response to the rocket attack on Israeli territory on October 1. Although Iran initially promised other countries in the region not to react, its rhetoric has changed. The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami, and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued threats, saying there would be "unimaginable consequences" for Israel.
