Fish is useful for the human body, at the same time, different concentrations of mercury are found in it. Experts told which river and sea representatives of the earth's fauna can still be eaten without fear.

Analysis of fish caught in different parts of the world shows the presence of mercury, in some cases fatal doses for humans have been noted. Sometimes the content of toxic substances in tuna exceeds the permissible standards by several times, this is due to the fact that it has a long lifespan.

Salmon and mackerel can accumulate mercury. The latter is considered useful, as it contains many polyunsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Scientists have named five more species of jawed mouths that are dangerous to health. These include: pangasius, tilapia, eel, tilefish and sea bass.

Most of the fish caught by Ukrainian enterprises is exported, while a small part of the catch reaches the country's market. In addition to accumulated mercury, river and sea water vertebrates can be infected with diseases.

Experts believe that if the fish is fresh, then a small amount of mercury will not cause harm, since the vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids present in it contribute to strengthening health.
