The iSeeCar experts studied the data of more than 929 cars produced from 1981 to 2009 and sold from January to September 2024.
In this way, the brands with the most loyal customers were determined. It turned out that Japanese Toyota has the most loyal car owners. 5,6% of the owners of these cars drive them for more than 15 years.
The second place is also a Japanese car brand. Even after 15 years of active operation, the owners of 5,3% of Honda cars do not want to part with them.
The Japanese premium sub-brand Toyota - Lexus was in third place with an index of 4,4%. It is followed by the Japanese Mazda (4,3%), the Korean Hyundai (4,2%) and again the Japanese brand Subaru (4,1%).
The market average was 3,7%. That means about one in 27 Americans hasn't changed their car in more than 15 years.
Toyota again leads the model rating. Owners of hybrid Highlander and Camry, Highlander with a traditional internal combustion engine, as well as Tacoma and Prius do not want to part with them for many years. Also on this list of cars that rarely change hands are the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape Hybrid, Toyota RAV4, Lexus IS 350 and Nissan Versa.
