The aircraft made an "emergency landing" 1,5 kilometers from the city of Olekminsk, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia said.
An An-3 AK Borus light multipurpose aircraft crashed in Russian Yakutia in the Olekminsk district on Sunday, October 13. As a result of the plane crash, one of the passengers died. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Telegram.
The agency indicated that the aircraft made an "emergency landing" 1,5 kilometers from the city of Olekminsk.
"There were five people on board the plane, three of them (members) of the crew, two passengers," the statement says.
According to Russian mass media, the plane was flying from Olekminsk to Zheleznogorsk.
The initial cause of the crash was engine failure, after which the pilot "decided to make an emergency landing at the departure airport", but was unable to make it, and the An-3 AK crashed near Olekminsk.
The Russian press writes that the passengers of the plane could be contractors of the gold mining company.
