Dangerous bacteria were found in the hand dryer

Researchers from the USA have discovered harmful microorganisms in hand dryers. So, after visiting a public toilet and washing your hands, it is better to use a paper towel instead of a hair dryer.

Simply shaking wet hands to dry the skin may be more beneficial than using public hand dryers. Researchers from the University of Utah came to this conclusion. To estimate the number of bacteria living in these dryers, they used petri dishes that were placed under these devices in various types of public restrooms at gas stations, shopping centers, and movie theaters.

Then these Petri dishes were left for several days, as they say, to ripen. Subsequent observations showed that these dishes are literally teeming with bacteria and fungi, which appear in the form of white, yellow and black spots. Dryers in public toilets were found to be the most contaminated with bacteria. But in separate petri dishes, which were waved in the air to simulate natural hand drying, no microorganisms were found.

The results of this experiment turned out to be much more serious than expected regarding the bacterial threat to humanity. Previously, scientists tested the same way for the growth of bacteria on smartphones and other public spaces such as gas stations. It turned out that the hand dryer is the dirtiest. And the other day, British experts warned that the habit of not wiping your hands after washing them in the toilet is even more dangerous than not washing them at all.
