A meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine is to be held in Germany on October 12, which will be held for the first time at the level of leaders.
The Pentagon is considering rescheduling the Ramstein-style meeting scheduled to take place in Germany on Saturday, October 12, to another day. Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said this on Tuesday, October 8, Voice of America writes.
She explained that they could move the meeting mainly because of Joe Biden.
"Due to Hurricane Milton, President Biden cannot go to Ramstein to participate in the contact group on the defense of Ukraine. We are still working out how this will affect the minister's schedule,” she said.
When asked whether they plan to postpone the meeting of the group on defense of Ukraine, combining it with the meeting of NATO defense ministers on October 17-18, the Pentagon said that they do not yet have a final decision.
"We are only now figuring it out. So when there are updates, I'll be sure to let you know. As you know, the president canceled his trip just this morning. So we are working on these details. We will let you know when we know more," said the spokeswoman.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented on Biden's decision to postpone his trip. According to him, he is waiting for the postponement of the visit.
