Donald Trump began to increase his chances of returning to the White House, while Kamala Harris lost almost all of her lead over the opponent. The Hill writes about it.
"To be clear, Harris may very well become the next president. But the slight advantage she gained after a strong run for her candidacy, including a successful Democratic National Convention and a powerful debate against Trump last month, has all but disappeared.
A poll commissioned by The Hill as of Friday afternoon showed Trump leading in five of seven swing states believed to be key to deciding the winner. Even at the beginning of October, Harris had the advantage - she led in 4 states out of 7.
On this basis, with all other states taken into account, The Hill currently estimates the chances of Kamala Harris winning at 51%, although as recently as late September the chances were 56%.
The publication warns that these changes in the ratings do not necessarily mean a real decrease in the chances of the Democrat to win, because the gap between the candidates was not too big from the beginning.
"Changes of one or two percent can be statistical "noise" and not real evidence of movement," the publication says.
