Skoda presented a sports prototype based on the Enyaq RS electric crossover. The new model does not look like a crossover at all - it looks like a sports car from some body series.
The car received a body extended by 10 cm, a large rear wing, and an aggressive front bumper. The glass was replaced with polycarbonate, and some body elements were made of composites. This, together with other measures, made it possible to reduce the weight of the car by 316 kg. Ground clearance also decreased by 70 mm.
The power plant has not changed - a pair of electric motors powered by a traction battery with a capacity of 82 kWh produces 340 hp. However, due to weight reduction, the dynamics improved: the Skoda Enyaq RS Race takes less than 5 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h.
The car received 20-inch wheels, 10-piston calipers, sports bucket seats and even a roll cage. There will be no commercial future for the Enyaq RS Race, but Skoda has said that the experience gained in the creation of this sports car will be used in the development of production cars.
