Every housewife is familiar with dirty grates that are covered with sticky dirt. It's quite unpleasant to the touch and look, so they can be made shiny again with a few life hacks.
If you use the oven often, it will quickly get dirty, writes Bob Vila. To prevent fat, dirt and burnt pieces of food from accumulating on it, you should regularly clean the grates. Household items that are in everyone's home will help you in this.
Dishwashing liquid and salt
Lay an old rag on the bottom of the bathroom, and place an oven rack on top. Top it with hot water, and then pour half a glass of dishwashing detergent on top. Leave the bars overnight and wash off in the morning.
Instead of detergent, you can use baking soda, and then sprinkle it with vinegar. After foaming, the grates should be placed in hot water and immersed overnight. To remove grease, wipe the grates in the morning with an old toothbrush. For an abrasive cleaning, dip a toothbrush in salt.
Garbage bag and ammonia
Place the grates in a garbage bag after treating them with ammonia. Tie the bag and leave it overnight. It is important to perform this procedure in the fresh air. Be very careful in the morning, as ammonia pores can be quite strong. There is no need to clean the grates, just rinse them with a shower head.
Paste with essential oil
Mix baking soda and vinegar with a few drops of orange essential oil, which has powerful antimicrobial compounds. Apply the paste to the grids and leave for 8 hours, then wipe to remove grease and dirt and rinse well with water.
Aluminum foil and dishwasher tablets
Wrap the grids in foil and place in a bath filled with hot water. Dip the dishwasher tablet into the water and let the grate soak for 2 hours. Then remove the foil, and you can easily clean the fat with an old toothbrush.
