In the near future, a new seasonal car fine may appear in Ukraine. The relevant draft law No. 8369 has already been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada.
The document proposes to introduce administrative liability for car drivers for using car tires out of season, writes "Tvoi machina". This has long been sought in the National Police, where they are actively sounding the alarm because of the avalanche of accidents in winter due to the use of summer tires by Ukrainians.
The draft law proposes to oblige motorists to use a set of winter tires in the period from November 1 to March 31. Those who ignore the new requirement are proposed to be punished with a significant fine, the exact amount of which has not yet been disclosed.
The initiative was put on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada on September 3, so there is a high probability that the law will be adopted in the near future. It is worth noting that similar rules already exist in many European countries.
