With the new Bigster, Dacia is taking a significant step for the brand, as for the first time a budget brand is attacking a segment where not only value for money, but also status and prestige play an important role in the purchase decision.
Time will tell if the new Bigster can also impress the C SUV segment with its classic Dacia qualities and some newly acquired premium features. However, the conditions are quite good.
When the old Romanian brand Dacia ventured to relaunch under the Renault umbrella in the mid-2000s, the brand made a clear case for extremely affordable cars with high utility value. The Logan was the first modern representative of Dacia and offered a lot of space, but had the technology of the previous generation Renault and was quite basic in terms of comfort.
Over the years, Dacia has managed to maintain an excellent price/quality ratio, while offering more and more comfort and modern technology without abandoning its roots. Duster is a great example of the success of this strategy. And the market share continues to increase, especially among private customers.
However, now Dacia is reaching for the stars - by its own standards - and launching a new model in the strongest class in Europe - the SUV C segment. Here you can find all the notable competitors - from the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 to the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage and all the way to the best Skoda Kodiaq and VW Tiguan. And here, customers definitely expect a little more comfort, prestige and exclusivity.
For now, we offer to view the photo gallery of new products, and a detailed review in the next material.
