The Israel Defense Forces launched airstrikes against weapons depots and other targets of the Hezbollah movement in Beirut. This was reported by the press service of the Israeli Armed Forces.
"During the night, after receiving intelligence information from the Israel Defense Forces, the Air Force carried out a series of pinpoint strikes against a certain number of weapons warehouses and an infrastructure facility of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in the Beirut area," the statement said.
As noted by the press service, the Israeli armed forces informed the civilian population in advance so that the residents could leave the areas where the strikes were carried out. "The Hezbollah terrorist organization is deliberately placing its arms and weapons production facilities under residential buildings in the very center of the city of Beirut, putting the civilian population in this area at risk," the report said.
It is clarified that the IDF continues to act to weaken and destroy Hezbollah's capabilities.
It is also reported that the IDF destroyed an underground tunnel 250 meters long, located 300 meters from the Israeli-Lebanese border. Inside the tunnel were discovered command centers, prepared combat kits, weapons, as well as equipped living quarters with showers, a kitchen, a refrigerator and food supplies. The tunnel was destroyed: concrete was poured inside to prevent its future use.
