The automotive division of the Taiwanese technology giant Foxconn, named Foxtron, presented an electric minivan designed by Pininfarina.
The car was named Foxtron Model D, it entered the D-segment. Its length is 5,13 m and its width is 1,99 m. Foxconn claims that the car has traveled 659 km in the WLTP test cycle. This could make the model the longest-range seven-seater on the market, ahead of the Peugeot e-5008.
The Foxtron Model D will be equipped with a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of up to 120 kWh.
Foxtron claims that the model features increased aerodynamic efficiency and a drag coefficient of just 0,23Cd. According to company representatives, the design of the car made it possible to make it as energy efficient as possible.
The vehicle's platform was developed by ZF Chassis Modules, a 50% stake in which Foxconn acquired earlier this year. The seats in the six-seater version are equipped with charging devices for iPhone, and the backs of the front seats have a slot for iPad.
Mass production should begin in two years.
