How many delicious desserts and pastries can be prepared with this berry! Today I suggest making jam. It turns out to be transparent, the strawberry berries remain intact and a bright and saturated color is preserved. I am sure that such preparation will please the whole family!
Ingredients:
- strawberries - 1 kg
- sugar - 1 kg
- water - 2 tbsp. l.
- citric acid - 1/3 tsp.
Preparation:
For jam, I take strawberries of different sizes.
I pour a small amount of water into a large pot or pan so that the strawberries do not burn. Next, I pour over all the strawberries and boil them for 5-8 minutes. I periodically stir the berry. During this time, a little moisture will evaporate, the strawberries will become softer and release a sufficient amount of juice.
I add citric acid. It can be added as desired, but I always add it - and the taste turns out to be more balanced, and the color of the jam turns out to be bright and rich, and the jam is not sugary.
Dissolve the citric acid well in the stew and pour in the sugar. I mix well, bring to a boil and cook for another 5 minutes. If necessary, remove the foam that has formed.
I pour the jam into sterilized jars. I sterilize in the oven. I put the cans with their necks down on the rack, and put the lids next to them. I don't preheat the oven, I put the cans in a cold oven, close the door, turn on the usual heating mode - top-bottom and set the temperature to 150 degrees. Cans for half a liter and 700 gr. sterilize for exactly 10 minutes. After the time is up, I carefully take out the cans.
I pour the jam into jars and screw the lids tightly. I leave it to cool on the table at room temperature. After complete cooling, store in the refrigerator.
