The most popular dessert of our childhood is charlotte. It comes from Great Britain, but Ukrainian housewives have their own way of preparing English pastries. We are talking about a classic recipe for a delicate pie.
Recipe for charlotte with apples
Prepare 4 apples, 4 chicken eggs, 170 grams of sugar, 170 grams of flour, half an hour. l. baking powder and cinnamon to taste. You also need 40 grams of butter.
Break the eggs into a large bowl and add the sugar. Beat with a mixer for 5-6 minutes. When the mass increases and becomes tender, as well as whitens well, you can stop beating it. Sift the flour and add a pinch of sifted salt and baking powder. Mix it up. Add the dry mixture to the egg mass in portions.
After each addition of flour, carefully beat the mass with a mixer at medium speed. You should have an airy and very tender dough. Melted butter should be poured into it and mixed well again. The oil should be warm, not hot. Sweet and sour and hard apples should be washed and dried. Next, peel them and remove the center. Cut into thin slices.
Apples should not darken, so everything must be done quickly. Add cinnamon to the chopped fruits. Stir in the apples. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, and while it is heating, prepare a baking dish. Cover it with parchment or grease it with butter.
Next, pour the dough into the mold so that it covers the entire surface of the mold - about ⅓ of the dough. Lay out half of the apples. Pour the rest of the dough, and put the apples on top and slightly drown them in the dough. Cook charlotte for 30-40 minutes. If it starts to brown a lot, cover it with foil.
