Volkswagen presented the updated Taos. The crossover has changed inside and out, plus received an upgraded engine.
The model has changed the design of the front end, including the bumper and radiator grille, and LED headlights have become standard equipment for all versions. For an additional fee, you can get a light jumper, as well as adaptive AFS optics. At the back, the Taos now has a full-width lamp and an illuminated logo. Bright Moss Green, Monterey Blue Pearl and Monument Gray shades have been added to the color palette. Depending on the execution, the diameter of the wheels varies from 17 to 19 inches.
In the interior of the Taos there is a completely different front panel. The central display is 8 inches by default, but the touch-sensitive climate control unit is only available on SE and above. In addition, noise insulation has been improved, finishing materials and colors have been revised. In simple Taos, the upholstery is fabric, in medium models - from CloudTex material. Leather is only available in the SEL trim, and two color schemes are offered: black and gray or the new dark blue.
The engine is a 1.5 EA211 turbo engine. It received new piston rings, fuel injectors, a turbocharger housing and an enlarged intercooler. As a result, the power increased from the current 160 to 176 hp. The unit is combined with an 8-speed "automatic". It was installed on front-wheel drive Taos before, but on all-wheel drive it was replaced by a 7-speed "robot" DSG.
Updated crossovers will appear in the showrooms of American dealers by the end of the year. Prices will be announced later. Now the model costs from 23 dollars.
