Cigarette smoke has a negative effect on the body, say doctors. Even at a distance, it reduces the ability of the immune system to destroy cancer cells, while provoking their reproduction.
Regular exposure to cigarette smoke in people who have never been addicted to the habit increases the risk of lung cancer by 20-30%. The risk is highest with regular inhalation of smoke, wrote a practicing vascular surgeon on his Instagram page.
According to the specialist, cigarette smoke contains large amounts of toxic compounds of nitrosamines, which makes even so-called "third-hand" smoking dangerous when a person is in a smoky room for some time.
"Even in a room with ventilation, up to 80% of these substances remain," the vascular surgeon warned.
