In Russia, a light aircraft was fired upon, mistaken for a drone
In the Murmansk Region, a light aircraft was mistaken for a drone and fired upon with small arms.
A light aircraft was fired upon in the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation. It was confused with a drone, the Baza Telegram channel writes on Thursday, September 12.
It is noted that two light-sport aircraft - an ATEC 321 Faeta NG and a BRM Aero Bristell NG5 - took off from an airstrip in the Apatytsk Municipal District in Arkhangelsk around 16:30 on September 11 - half an hour after the lifting of restrictions on the use of drone attack air.
"Apparently, the cancellation did not reach everyone - after takeoff, the pilot of one of the planes saw that the second plane was behaving strangely and gave a distress signal. Later, it turned out that the second side was fired with small arms," the report says. The bullets pierced the plane's wing and headlights. After the shooting, the pilots of both planes requested a change of flight plan. Their flight lasted about 20 minutes.
