A court in New York postponed for two months the sentencing of former US President Donald Trump in the case of payment of money to a porn star in order to avoid speculation about political pressure on the eve of the election.

"A judge on Friday agreed to postpone the sentencing of Donald Trump in the case of payments to a porn actress until after the November elections," the report said.
It is noted that the verdict is scheduled for November 26, that is, three weeks after the end of voting in the US presidential elections. The previous date was September 18.
The judge explained his decision with the desire "to avoid any appearance - no matter how unfounded - that the proceedings were influenced or are intended to be influenced by the upcoming presidential elections in which the defendant is a candidate."
It involves falsifying business records to conceal a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in the weeks leading up to the 2016 election.
