It is not necessary to make apple and pear jam separately. It is better to combine these fruits together. It will turn out a rather interesting delicacy, with which you can have fun with the seagull, and add it to the pie.
You will need:
- 1 kg of apples;
- Xnumx Pears;
- 2 glass sugar;
- 0,3 tsp. citric acid.
To make jam for the winter from pears and apples, first wash the fruit thoroughly under the tap. It is advisable to choose firm fruits, as too soft ones will turn into puree during cooking.
Peel apples and pears. Cut each fruit into 4 parts and cut out the seeds and core. Cut these large pieces into cubes. Transfer the fruit to a saucepan. Sprinkle with sugar.
Leave for a few minutes at room temperature to let the apples and pears release their juice. It will be enough, so there is no need to add water. Put the pan on the fire. When the mass boils, boil for 2 minutes and turn off the stove.
Cover the jam with a lid. Wait for complete cooling. After that, bring to a boil again. Pour citric acid. First, it is a good preservative. Secondly, it will not allow the jam to become sugary.
Boil for another 2 minutes. Such approaches in cooking will allow the pieces to remain whole and will contribute to the maximum preservation of vitamins. Sterilize the jars.
Pour boiling jam into jars and cover with lids, which should be pre-boiled. Twist it. Turn upside down. wrap up Do not touch until the workpiece has completely cooled.
In the process of cooling, the syrup will thicken, and the fruits themselves will soften a little. Now send the apple-pear jam for storage in a cool, dark place. In winter, open a jar and immediately remember the generous autumn season.
