The headquarters of the candidate from the Democrats for the seat of the president of the United States, Kalama Harris, decided to gain support in three important states of the United States by placing advertisements about Ukraine. The videos began appearing in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, states that are still swinging between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, who is gaining support after the debate.
Politico writes that Kamala Harris' team decided to bet on videos about the war in Ukraine. Journalists note that this move is supported by statistical data about the residents of these states, because a huge number of them come from Eastern European countries, such as Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Ukraine.
The ad includes digital and television commercials in Pennsylvania, Harris' HQ said. Promotional videos in Michigan and Wisconsin are planned to follow.
During the debate with Trump, Kamala Harris personally addressed 800 Poles living in Pennsylvania. She said that Poland could be the next country to be attacked by Russia.
"If Donald Trump were president, Putin would be sitting in Kyiv right now," Harris said.
The publication emphasizes that all these efforts of Harris are aimed at maximally convincing the voters that Trump will not support the interests of Ukraine in the event of his victory in the US elections. The Harris headquarters is betting on personal resonance among people who are closer to the war in Ukraine.
Politico adds that 5% of Polish Americans live in Pennsylvania, and another 122 are Ukrainian Americans. 900 Polish Americans and 40 Ukrainian Americans live in Michigan, and almost 480 Polish Americans live in Wisconsin.
According to Harris campaign manager Tom Malinowski, even a small amount of support from these citizens will have a positive effect on the final result.
