At the IAA Transportation 2024 exhibition, which will be held in Hannover from September 17 to 22, Scania will demonstrate the latest trucks, including those powered by electric traction and biogas, as well as advanced service solutions.
A 4x2 electric main tractor unit with batteries of increased capacity – 728 kWh, which allows a 40-ton road train to travel up to 530 km, will make its debut at the stand. An EMC1-4 electric motor is installed here, which can be supplied in five power options. In this case, the 400 kW and 3520 Nm version will be shown. Battery charging can be carried out by stations up to 375 kW.
A 6x2 electric truck for working with interchangeable bodies is also presented at the exhibition. This powerful P160+ model is equipped with a 400 kW or 450 kW electric motor. Batteries with a capacity of 620 kWh provide a range of up to 520 km. You can charge batteries from 0 to 100% in just 85 minutes. The total weight of the road train can reach 45 tons. Different options of power take-off boxes are offered - for installing cranes, hook loaders, etc.
The exposition will also feature a hybrid gas tractor R 460 of the wheel formula 4x2, equipped with two tanks - for compressed and liquefied biogas, for 608 and 400 liters, respectively. OC13 104 engine with a capacity of 460 hp. can work alternately on one of them. CNG filling stations have a wider coverage network. The advantage of liquefied biogas is an increased range, which can reach 1800 km.
Visitors will also be able to see the Scania 460 R tractor, the winner of the prestigious Green Truck economic and environmental competition. The latter is organized by the well-known industry magazines Trucker and Verkehrsrundschau and has been held since 2011. It is interesting that out of the 14 held over the entire time, Scania machines won in it nine times. In this case, it is a tractor with a Super power line, with a 13-liter 460 hp engine, which showed a fuel consumption of 100 liters less per 0,4 km than the car that took second place.
In addition to trucks at IAA Transportation 2024, Scania will for the first time in the industry show a unique, modular package of service services - Service 360. It simplifies the purchase of certain solutions by international customers - from basic to flexible service, taking into account the condition of a particular vehicle. As part of Scania ProCare, you can carry out prevention of the most critical components, as well as use digital services - positioning of vehicles in the fleet and operational characteristics of cars.
The new Max24 service guarantees the repair of a truck within 24 hours, no matter in which part of Europe it is located. The contract service Scania Guardian, which allows the owner to be informed about the condition of a particular component even before its breakdown through remote diagnostics, deserves attention.
The ProDriver digital coaching service, training drivers for economical driving 24/7, will also be presented at the IAA. It allows you to reduce fuel consumption by 5%. It is easy to connect via the Scania Driver and My Scania applications. The system analyzes a number of driving parameters (idling, prediction, coasting) and issues appropriate recommendations.
