Iran continues military support of the Russian aggressors
EU officials said they had seen evidence that Iran was supplying Russia with ballistic missiles.
Iran again delivered ballistic missiles to Russia. The fact that more than 200 Fath-300 or Fath-360 missiles, which can hit targets at a distance of 112 km, were delivered to Russia by sea was first reported by the British Times and later confirmed by official sources in Ukraine and the West.
New opportunities for occupiers
As a source in the Ukrainian Armed Forces told The Times, the cargo arrived on a Russian ship in one of the ports of the Caspian Sea. The source is convinced that the Fath-300 will expand Moscow's ability to strike Ukrainian cities from long distances.
According to Ukrainian sources, the Iranian agreement with the Kremlin once again confirms the need for Ukraine to be able to use long-range Western weapons (for example, British-made Storm Shadow missiles) for key targets on the territory of Russia.
The Russians will teach the use of the Fath-300 to Iranian instructors at the Ashuluk training ground (Astrakhan region).
The Times believes that Tehran will continue to organize the supply of weapons to Russia even despite the risk of additional Western sanctions.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Tuesday that dozens of Russian servicemen have been trained in Iran to use FATH-360 missiles, and Russia is likely to use them against Ukraine within a few weeks.
The US secretary of state warned that Iranian missiles would give Russia additional capabilities and greater flexibility, as he said Russia would now be able to use its own arsenal to defeat front-line targets and Iranian weapons to defeat closer targets.
Reaction
Ukraine has declared that it will consider options for further relations with Iran up to their complete rupture, if Russia uses ballistic missiles supplied by Tehran to attack Ukrainian territories.
"I will not now go into the details of what exactly we mean by serious consequences, so as not to weaken our diplomatic position. But I can say for sure that absolutely all options are under consideration, including the one you are asking about," said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhiy Tykhi, when asked by the press whether Kyiv could sever ties with Tehran.
Brussels announced that EU representatives had received evidence that Tehran supplied the Russian Federation with ballistic missiles for use in Ukraine.
Iran version
On September 8, a member of the Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy of the Iranian Parliament, Ahmad Ardestani, in an interview with Didban Iran, stated that Iran bartered ballistic missiles to Russia.
At the same time, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Nasser Kanaani, denies the transfer of ballistic missiles by Tehran to Moscow.
