The Iranian president will attend the BRICS summit in Russia
The visit comes against the backdrop of tensions with the West caused by military cooperation between Russia and Iran.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will attend the BRICS summit in Russia and meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This is reported by Reuters.
The BRICS summit is planned to be held in Kazan, Russia, in October. Pezeshkian will meet with Putin on October 22-24. It is expected that they may sign a bilateral cooperation agreement. The Iranian president's visit comes amid tensions with the West caused by Russian-Iranian military cooperation.
On September 10, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia had received ballistic missiles from Iran and would probably use them in Ukraine within a few weeks. According to him, the deepening of ties between Moscow and Tehran poses a threat to the security of Europe as a whole.
