The SAIC Volkswagen joint venture brought a new generation of Passat sedans to the Chinese market — the regular Passat 2025 Outstanding Edition and the Passat Pro 2025. The latter received three screens in the cabin, only the most powerful 2,0-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 220 hp. and the new top performance for a significant $43,5. But the basic versions of the cars are much cheaper — $22,5 for the regular Passat and $26,7 for the Passat Pro.
Each of these models has two options for the design of the front and back. The first is the Pioneer Edition with a large air intake decorated in the form of long horizontal bars (like the Camry of the previous generation), and in the Starry Sky Edition, the air intake is decorated with a large mesh.
The dimensions are 5006x1850x1489 mm, the length of the wheelbase is 2871 mm. Compared to the European version, the wheelbase of the "Chinese" has been increased by 30 mm.
The interior of the Passat Pro 2025 has three screens: a 10,3-inch screen in front of the driver, a 15-inch screen with a 2K resolution as part of the media system, and a 11,6-inch screen in front of the front passenger. The media system runs on the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155, the amount of RAM and flash memory is 12 GB and 128 GB, respectively.
The Passat Pro is also equipped with wireless charging for a smartphone, three-zone climate control, a panoramic roof, Harman Kardon acoustics with 16 speakers and ambient lighting with 30 colors.
All Chinese Passats of the 2025 model year are equipped with a 2,0-liter EA888 gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 220 hp. The engine is combined with a branded 7-speed "robot" DSG. The sedan accelerates to 100 km/h in 7,6 seconds, the average fuel consumption is 6,87 l/100 km.
