The hosts of the televised debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris in Philadelphia, ABC News' David Muir and Lynsey Davis, faced a wave of criticism. They were accused online of being biased against Republican candidate Donald Trump.
According to people who criticized the anchors, the bias manifested itself in several ways: Trump was allegedly asked more hostile questions, asked follow-up questions, and more attention was paid to checking his facts. The Daily Wire writes about it.
Donald Trump's son, well-known journalists, presenters, the CEO of Babylon Bee, and others were among those who considered some moments of the debate unfair, namely, its conduct.
Trump Jr on his page in the X social network (former Twitter criticized fact-checkers for allegedly checking only Trump's facts, but not Harris).
"It's amazing how the abcnews hack moderators only do Trump 'fact checking' and let Kamala lie non-stop," he wrote. "Fake news is the enemy of the people!"
He went on to give specific examples where, in his opinion, Harris's facts were not checked:
“The moderators did not check the facts that Kamala told when she brought up the lie about Charlottesville. The moderators did not fact check Kamala when she lied about changing her position on fracking. The moderators did not fact-check Kamala when she repeatedly lied about Trump's position.".
Independent journalist Christopher Rufo wrote on X:
"These blatantly biased and often misleading 'fact checks' are absurd. This is not journalism. This is propaganda."
Sirius XM host Megyn Kelly criticized Muir and Davis, writing:
“These moderators are a disgraceful failure and this is one of the most biased and unfair debates I have ever seen. Shame on you ABC. The attacks on Trump are so bad and obvious that it will backfire.” — she added.
CEO of Babylon Bee Seth Dillon said:
“Kamala is holding back the moderators in this joint anti-Trump debate. Definitely the weakest link."
Political commentator Noah Pollack wrote:
"ABC hosts disgraced themselves by shielding Harris from having to answer whether she supports late-term partial-birth abortion."
